Nnamdi Kanu's deteriorating health and the Department of State Services' (DSS) refusal to allow him access to his personal doctor has continued to cause international concern after his lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor said the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) had not been able to eat in the past few days.

IPOB, which reacted to the development, said that the government is playing a dangerous part that will cause the destruction of Nigeria.

The group that said Kanu's mistreatment contravenes court orders warned that the issue of their leader's health while in government custody is "a red line" that DSS must not cross.

A statement by Emma Powerful, said any harm to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will bring dire consequences for Nigeria and its allies who conspired in the incarceration of the separatist leader.

According to the IPOB spokesman, if Nnamdi Kanu is not released soon, the Biafra struggle will turn into a bloody revolution.

He urged the international community to compel the Nigerian government to unconditionally release Mazi Kanu.

According to reports from lawyers, the leader of IPOB is in excruciating pain caused by his gastrointestinal disorder.
