At least two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) were killed in the early hours of Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Borno State, northeast Nigeria.

Two other security operatives were injured in the attack which occurred in Pulka and Ngoshe in the Gwoza Local Government Area of ​​the state.

A counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama, said the terror group— Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) ambushed and opened fire on the security agents who were on patrol.

No civilian casualties were recorded in the attack, military sources said, stating that the attack occurred in the least expected area.

In the Chibok community where Boko Haram abducted hundreds of schoolgirls eight years ago, residents said they are still under attack.
