Aloy Ejimakor, the special Counsel for Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has listed four local and international court orders regarding the separatist leader, which the Nigerian government has disobeyed.

Ejimakor listed the orders on Monday, after the Nigerian government failed to release Mr. Kanu on the order of the Court of Appeal which acquitted and discharged him last week.

The legal scholar quoted a tweet from John Campbell, former US Ambassador to Nigeria, who said Nigeria can no longer afford to bully the IPOB chief because the country's security depended on it.

“Disobeying a 2018 decision of a continental tribunal on MNK was the 1st ‘mishandling’," said Ejimakor.

“Extraordinary rendition was the 2nd. Disobeying the UN was the 3rd. Disobeying the judgment of the Court of Appeal will be the 4th.”

He noted that “Nigerians & the international community must halt this."
