Members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, staged a protest on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Aba, the business hub of Abia State.

The demonstrators are demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu, whom the Court of Appeal had acquitted in October 2022.

Members of the separatist group staged the protest after a new appeal court decision granted the Federal Government of Nigeria a request for a stay of execution of the appeal court judgment.

Protesters holding signs and Biafran flags called on the government to release Mr Kanu unconditionally.

“He committed no crime,” said one of the protesters.
