Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, condemned the violence in the southeast, warning the perpetrators to refrain or face serious consequences.

The detained self-determination activist, who spoke through his lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor, reiterated his abhorrence of all forms of social vice and lawlessness.

He said the southeast region should be made safe from terrorists, including armed violent herders, and not destroyed by locals or armed gangs.

In Thursday's message, Nnamdi Kanu dissociated himself from groups and individuals posing as Biafran agitators and committing crimes, noting that they are criminal and misguided elements on a mission to incriminate him and IPOB.

The IPOB leader called for calm in the southeast and assured his supporters that he would soon achieve victory.
