The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is a Nigerian government agency that investigates financial crimes, such as embezzlement, money laundering, and insider trading. The EFCC was established in 2003 in response to the increasing wave of financial crime in Nigeria. The EFCC is also part of the paramilitary organization in Nigeria. The EFCC is headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria. The commission has a staff of more than 10,000 and a budget of more than 600 million naira (US$400,000).
What is the EFCC’s Salary Structure?
The EFCC salary structure is based on rank. Employees are paid according to their rank within the organization.
The EFCC ranks are divided into three groups.
- The Detective Superintendent.
- Detective Inspectorate
- Detective Assistant Cadres of the Cadets.

The average monthly salary that is paid to an EFCC entry-level staff is about ₦168,500. while the average monthly salary that is paid to an EFCC (Economic Financial Crime Commission) worker is ₦250,200 monthly. The salary paid to an EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) Deputy Detective is about ₦245,800.
