NAF Salary Structure

Aircraftman: The lowest rank in the Nigerian Air Force, Aircraftmen are responsible for menial tasks such as cleaning and maintaining aircraft and few security work.

Lance Corporal: This is the first rank that’s considered non-commissioned, and lance corporals are responsible for supervising privates and leading small groups.

Corporal: Corporals are mostly in charge of weapons and equipment, and they also provide instruction to other enlisted personnel.

Sergeant: Sergeants are the backbone of the NAF, with responsibilities for everything from training to operations.

Flight Sergeant: The third to the highest rank an enlisted person can achieve without being commissioned, a master sergeant oversees all activities within a unit.

Warrant Officer: Warrant officers are highly skilled technical experts who provide support to commissioned officers.

  • Master Warrant Officer collects N165,694
  • Cadet (Trainee) is paid N44,599 monthly
  • Air Warrant Officer’s salary is N181,765 monthly

NAF Salary For Commissioned Officers: 

  • Pilot Officer’s salary is N197,194 monthly
  • Flying Officer’s salary is N218,484 monthly
  • Flight Lieutenant earns N232,485 as monthly salary
  • Squadron Leader is paid N248,085 monthly
  • Wing Comdr earns N342,584 monthly salary
  • Group Captain earns N352,684 monthly
  • Air Commodore collects N677,884 as monthly salary
  • Air Vice-Marshal is paid N1,376,384 as a monthly salary
  • Air Marshal is paid N1,486,484 as a monthly salary
  • Air Chief Marshal earns N1,724,284 monthly.

NAF Allowances 2024

Operation Allowance: This is paid to officers who are posted to areas that are considered difficult or dangerous.

Education allowance: This is given to officers who are continuing their education while serving in the military.

Transport allowance: This is paid to officers who are required to travel for an outside assignment.

House rent allowance: This is paid to officers who are not provided with government accommodation.

Uniform allowance: This is given to officers once a year, and is used to purchase uniforms and other items of clothing.
